I look at practicality here my current simple petrol powered 1.4 little Honda would still outperform the Tesla so far as range is concerned; it takes but a couple of minutes to fill the petrol tank whereas a battery powered car takes hours to charge, then there is longevity my old car is now 12 year...

Eric first I apologise as I haven't had the time to fully read your post but looking at the damage to the half shaft seal face, it would be possible to get it metal sprayed and turned back or perhaps a seal with a wear sleeve, you would need to put some Loctite behind the wear sleeve to prevent the ...
