Hi, managed to sort out the oil filter, basically put it back together without the thin plastic disc and seems to ok. changed the hydrolic filter too, hell that had collasped in the middle and really need changing.

Still can't find serial number plate only the figures shown in my precious posting.

Probaly will go for NFU insurance £47 TPF&F. A big thanks for all the advice and for the manual downloads. Anyway here are some pics of her. can someone tell methe engine? The diger is 1975/76.

Hi, that would be great if you could as it has no Serial No plate as I can see only the numbers on the n/s front cross member as per my earlier post. I wanted to get the Serial No before I sent off the form to the DVLA as they say it may slow down the application to issue a V5. I'll go ahead and send off the form anyway. Cheers, Spud

HI Spud, My engine is like yours and I have none to compare to. At the cab end of the air filter housing, is it open, can you put in you hand and touch the air filter?. I am not sure should there be a cover there to seal the 'barrel'.

Hi Michael, your'e right mate, there should not be an end cover for the air filter, that's what my mate says - seems a strange set up. An early post by Robin says my engine is a Leyland 4/98 but I can't see a manual for it in downloads though.

Been de stuping today and shes working great only issue is no electrics as all the lights are shot also only the oil temp guage is working. Will have a look at the electrics at the week end. Spud
